It’s all about terroir
Uncompromising standards of cool-climate viticulture
Growing grapes in the Waitaki Valley – New Zealand’s newest premium wine region

The wine making is carried out with as little intervention as possible by Jeff Sinnott using the traditional techniques of Burgundy and Alsace, with subtle use of oak.

Caroline's pinot Noir
Jasper Morris MW, UK:
2008 Caroline's: "This is probably the finest Ostler pinot we have received to date as the vines are becoming well established in their breathtaking vineyard site on the limestone escarpment overlooking the braided Waitaki River. It is once again a superbly elegant pinot in a red fruit register seamlessly crafted and remarkably persistent."
Steve Tanzer, USA:
2006 Caroline's:"Medium red. Sexy aromas of raspberry, plum, mocha and earth. Broad, savory and dry, with plum and underbrush flavors complemented by smoky minerality. Very distinctive, pliant pinot but not about primary fruit. Finishes chewy and long, with sweet tannins and considerable appeal. 91"
