Ostler Lakeside Riesling Spätlese 2020 (6-bottle case)

Our Riesling Spätlese from 2015 was very popular and we think the 2020 vintage will prove equally enjoyable.

Tasting notes for the Ostler Riesling Spätlese 2020:

Pale straw with clear hues.

Fragrant with apple and citrus blossom, ripe golden peach, lemon curd and melon.

Sweet and silky entry with ripe mandarin, lime, melon, passionfruit and a touch of pink grapefruit. Beautifully balanced with generous fruit sweetness and bright acidity. Complex and long with a juicy, sweet stonefruit finish.

Food matches: Try it with a blue cheese.

Wine making notes:

The fruit is 100% hand harvested Riesling from the Waitaki. Harvest took place on April 26th 2020. The fruit was whole bunch pressed to a stainless steel tank for cold settling for two days. The juice was then racked and the juice inoculated with selected wine yeast. The cool
fermentation was stopped to retain a Spätlese style.
